This could be an excellent way for those of us in the AV industry to wave our hands and say, “Hey USGBC, for the next rev of LEED, what about videoconferencing? Acoustics? AV asset/room management?” We’ve only got a few days left to get comments in. I recommend we GreenAV types take a look at the site this weekend and start flooding them with our recommended changes.

Public comment period open for LEED for High Performance Operations
-- Consulting-Specifying Engineer, 8/20/2007 10:55:00 AM
U.S. Green Building Council invites the public to comment on the draft LEED for High Performance Operations v2008 Rating System. LEED for High Performance Operations is the outcome of a LEED for Existing Buildings revisions process.
The draft is intended to meet the unique needs of whole building operations and maintenance. LEED for High Performance Operations addresses aspects of facility management, such as site maintenance, green cleaning, alternative transportation, alternative energy and water conservation.
The public comment period will be open for 31 days, starting August 2 and continuing through September 2. USGBC will respond to all comments, and post the comments and responses—without commenter names or organizations—to the USGBC website. If changes are made to the draft, a second public comment period will be conducted on those changes. The resulting draft will be sent to USGBC membership for balloting.
